IAMMETER App Firmware Upgrade | Wi-Fi Energy Meter Update Made Easy

IAMMETER continues to improve and update its meter firmware to provide better performance and more stable operation.
Previously, users had to visit the firmware release post in our community forum to download the latest firmware manually and then upload it via the meter’s local web interface.

Now, with the latest version of the IAMMETER App, you can upgrade the firmware directly from the App, making the process much easier and more convenient.
There are two different upgrade scenarios, depending on whether your meter is connected to the internet.

1. When the Meter Is Connected to the Internet

  1. Ensure your mobile phone and the meter are connected to the same WLAN, and this WLAN has internet access.
  2. The IAMMETER App will automatically download the latest firmware from the cloud and perform the upgrade for your meter.

2. When the Meter Is Not Connected to the Internet

If your meter is currently in AP mode (not connected to the internet), your phone needs to connect directly to the meter’s Wi-Fi hotspot.
Since there’s no internet access in this mode, the App will use the firmware package embedded inside the App to perform the upgrade.
Please note that this built-in firmware may not always be the latest version.

Important Notes

  • For firmware versions earlier than 2.75.76, the upgrade protection feature is not supported.
    Any interruption (such as power loss or closing the browser) during the upgrade process may cause the device to become bricked.
    Therefore, we do not recommend upgrading these versions.

  • For firmware versions earlier than i.91.061, the first upgrade to a newer version will
    erase the Wi-Fi configuration.
    Please reconfigure the Wi-Fi connection after the upgrade. Subsequent upgrades will not be affected.
