BillSave Now Supports Custom Electricity Offers

Electricity retailers, tariff structures and contract variations differ across countries. No central catalog can immediately contain every offer available to every user.

BillSave now addresses that gap with Custom Offers. If an electricity offer is not yet available in BillSave's official catalog, users can define its prices and billing rules in My Offers, calculate an estimated bill with their own interval energy data, and compare the result with compatible official or other saved offers.

This makes BillSave useful beyond the countries, Suppliers and products currently covered by its official catalog.

Build an electricity offer around your own contract

A Custom Offer defines how electricity should be charged. Depending on the contract, users can configure components such as:

flat or time-of-use import rates;
tiered rates and weekday schedules;
daily or monthly fixed charges;
seasonal pricing;
solar export credits;
demand charges;
free-use periods; and
separately billed Controlled Load energy.

After checking the configuration, the user saves a calculation-ready version. BillSave can then apply those rules to a selected billing period using the user's own energy Dataset.

Custom Offers remain private unless the user submits a saved version for review. Approved submissions can appear in Community Offers, where another user may save a private copy and adjust it to match their own contract.

Calculate an offer even when the official catalog does not cover it

BillSave's official catalog remains the preferred source for supported published offers. Custom Offers add another path when:

a country does not yet have an official BillSave catalog;
a Supplier or product is not yet listed;
the user's contract has a different rate or condition; or
the user wants to test a hypothetical tariff structure.

A custom model does not turn the offer into an official Supplier listing. The user remains responsible for entering the correct prices, timezone, tax treatment, effective dates and contract conditions.

How this differs from bill calculation in IAMMETER Cloud

IAMMETER Cloud already helps IAMMETER users monitor energy consumption and estimate electricity costs. BillSave is designed as a dedicated electricity bill calculation and Offer comparison platform, with several additional capabilities for tariff modelling.

Use shorter interval energy data

BillSave can retain and calculate with 5-minute, 15-minute or 30-minute interval energy data, where the Dataset and selected tariff rules require that resolution. This matters when the cost depends on exactly when energy was imported, exported or used by a separate channel.

Model more complex billing rules

Custom Offers can represent pricing components such as demand charges, free-use windows and Controlled Load billing in addition to conventional flat and time-of-use rates. Users should add only the rules that genuinely apply to their contract and provide the required data channels.

Compare custom and official offers with the same data

A Custom Offer is not limited to a standalone bill calculation. Users can compare compatible Custom Offers with supported official catalog offers while keeping the same Dataset and billing period fixed.

This helps isolate the effect of the tariff itself: the underlying energy use does not change between calculations.

Use CSV data or connect an IAMMETER Cloud Site

BillSave is an independent platform and does not require an IAMMETER device or IAMMETER account. A user can create a BillSave account with email and upload 5-, 15- or 30-minute interval energy data.

IAMMETER users have an additional option: they can sign in through IAMMETER and authorise BillSave to load interval data from an IAMMETER Cloud Site, avoiding a manual CSV upload.

BillSave calculations are estimates for comparison. A Custom or Community Offer is a user-defined model, not a Supplier quote or a guarantee of eligibility, availability, bill accuracy or savings.
